One day full of high speed corners, rubber and spikes, hot engines and smell of gasoline on the ice track. A winter highlight for petrolheads and those to be alike, Ice Race is an intense experience of freedom, precision and speed.

With the Ice Race, we have built a festival around cars and their status as a cultural icons. Uniting those who share a passion, now and in the future. This unique race event includes different racing classes, the unique mixed class of Skijöring, and exhibitions of rare and exotic cars.

The Spirit of Ice Race
The Ice Race is all about the 80s and 90s racing atmosphere, so bring your best motorsport outfit!Our after-party will have the exact same vibe, so you can already start putting your look together. Also be aware, that the temperatures will be freezing, so don‘t forget to bring warm shoes.

Both professional and amateur drivers participate to be the best on ice. Racers take part in many different classes, this year they will be competing in touring 4-wheel and 2-wheel cars, Buggys, Side-cars, Skijöring, Skijöring Elektro and Klassik for a demonstration lap or two. The main goal is always to bring motorsport closer to the fans, and to bring us all closer together.
Don‘t know what to expect?
In it’s heyday, more than 10,000 motorsport fans came to Zell am See to be part of the historic ice races. For 45 years no ice race has taken place. Almost half a century later, this tradition is back. What started as an idea of two friends, is fast becoming a unique automotive winter festival in the magnificent Austrian alps!
Car Culture Lovers united
After a remarkable comeback in 2019 and freezing cold temperatures, thousands of fans got to experience the thrill of the ice race for the first time in decades. The cars are faster, the atmosphere icy cold and the spikes do their part! Friends like Striezel Stuck came to Zell, driving a Formula 1 car on the ice - as did Max Verstappen. We‘ve also welcomed others like Ken Block, Mark Webber, Aksel Lund Svindal or JP Kraemer. After all, ICE RACE is about the people, especially the friends we’ve made all over the world.
